Cal Beat Oregon State, 39-25

  • To honor and support Utah, which is retiring the No. 22 (Aaron Lowe, Ty Jordan) during its game against UCLA Saturday night, every Pac-12 home team painted the hash marks at the 22-yard lines in the Utah red color.
  • Cal now leads the all-time series with the Beavers, 39-35, snapping a brief two-game losing streak.
  • Today marks Cal's most points scored in a Pac-12 game since the Bears won, 49-7, at Oregon State in 2018.
  • On the opening drive of the game, Chase Garbers scored a rushing touchdown, setting the school career record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 10.
  • After the Garbers' opening-drive TD, Cal has now scored on six of its opening drives this season - 5 TDs, 1 FG.
  • Garbers also secured a career-high passer rating of 188.1, topping his previous personal best of 187.

  • In the second quarter, Damien Moore punched in his sixth career rushing TD, all this season. He now boasts seven total TDs in 2021. In the fourth quarter, Moore tallied a career-long 56-yard run, surpassing his previous career best of 54 vs. Stanford in 2020.
  • Making his first start this season, Christopher Brooks hauled in a career-long 38-yard TD reception in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, he hauled in his second receiving TD of the game. It was his first game catching two TDs in a game in his career. He now has six career receiving TDs and 17 total TDs. Brooks also finished with season highs of 83 yards rushing and 20 carries, while his 40 yards receiving were also a season best.
  • Trevon Clark hauled in his fifth career receiving TD, third this season, in the third quarter.
  • Dario Longhetto connected on a 45-yard field goal in the first quarter. He is now 8-for-11 on field goal attempts this season after missing a 48-yarder in the third quarter, snapping a streak of six consecutive makes before that.
  • Marqez Bimage recorded his second career forced fumble and his first career recovery on the first play from scrimmage in the game.
  • Trey Paster notched his first career sack on Oregon State's second drive of the game
  • Cal blocked a punt in the second half, giving the Bears two for the season. The last time Cal had multiple blocked punts in a season was three in 2015.
  • Cal entered today's game leading the Pac-12 and tied for third nationally with only one fumble lost all season. The Bears now hold a +6 turnover margin, after picking up a +3 margin today. Cal began the day tied for third in the conference and tied for 29th in the NCAA in turnover margin. Today also marked Cal's fourth game this season without a turnover.
  • The Bears also sit atop the Pac-12 in time of possession with an average of 31:07 per game entering today, and Cal held the ball for 33:59 against OSU.
  • Today marked the first career starts for Bimage, Femi Oladejo and Jaedon Roberts. Also, Andy Alfieri and Dejuan Butler made their first career appearances while Ryan Puskas played for the first time this season.
