BERKELEY - The No. 9 California men's gymnastics team picked up its first weekly honor of 2021 on Tuesday. Junior Yu-Chen Lee was named MPSF Gymnast of the Week after his performance in Cal's win over Army last Saturday.
 
Lee competed in five of six events last week, securing a career best on horizontal bar (12.750) and a season high of 13.250 on parallel bars. His parallel bars score and his mark on floor (13.500) were both team bests. 
 
This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Lee and he is Cal's first recipient in 2021.
 
The undefeated Bears (2-0) return to action Saturday, Feb. 13, squaring off against Stanford at 4 p.m. PT from Golden Bear Rec. Due to currently local health guidelines, fans will not be allowed to attend the meet in person. The virtual meet will be live streamed here
