Scott To Start In Indianapolis February 28 With His On-Field Workout And Measurables Testing Slated For March 3-4

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Former Cal safety Daniel Scott announced Tuesday that he has accepted an invitation to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine scheduled to take place February 27 – March 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Top front office executives, coaching staffs, player personnel departments and medical personnel from all 32 NFL teams will be on hand to evaluate the nation's top football players eligible for the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft.

The combine attendees will arrive staggered by position groups with Scott and the defensive backs among those due to start their activities in Indianapolis on February 28. Scott's on-field workout and the majority of his measurable skills testing are scheduled for March 3, while his bench press is on March 4 before departing Indianapolis later that day.

Each combine attendee's measurable skills testing includes opportunities to be tested in the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, 3 cone drill, and 20 and 60-yard shuttles.

Daniel Scott, S, 6-2, 215 (Pasadena, CA/Cal/St. Francis HS)
– Played in 49 games with 28 starts over his final five seasons at Cal (2018-22) after redshirting as a 2017 true freshman
– Registered 207 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss (-44 yards), 1.0 sack (-27 yards), seven interceptions that he returned for 65 yards and one touchdown, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, seven pass breakups and four quarterback hurries
– Started all 12 games and contributed a career-high 85 tackles as a 2022 senior, while adding 2.5 tackles for loss (-7 yards), a team-high and career-high-tying three interceptions that he returned a team-high and career-high 59 yards, a career-high four pass breakups and a career-high-tying two quarterback hurries
– Earned third-team All-Pac-12 honors from Phil Steele and Pro Football Focus while being selected honorable mention All-Pac-12 in a vote of the league's coaches as a 2022 senior
– Played in the 2023 Senior Bowl and has accepted an invite to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine
