Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

Thor Gets a Haircut

We helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

Three-time all-American pitcher and current JWOS softball analyst Kristina Thorson is putting a new spin on the saying “short hair, don’t care” and adopting a new slogan: “Short hair because I care!”

The legendary softball star and former Cal Golden Bear is putting her famous jet-black locks on the line to help raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research. “Thor”, as she has long been known by fans and former teammates alike, has set a fundraising goal of $1,000 and will be chopping off nearly a FOOT of hair as part of her fundraising endeavor.

300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year, and in the U.S., one in five will not survive. Thorson has joined forces with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the nation’s leading private funder of childhood cancer research, and Justin’s World of Softball for this fundraiser to help raise money to find cures.

As an added incentive, anyone who donates $10 or more to this fundraiser will be entered in a drawing to receive an autographed Kristina Thorson softball.
