Isabel Ivey Named Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week

Junior Set 6 Pool And Dual-Meet Records In Meets Against USC, UCLA

BERKELEY – Junior Isabel Ivey, who set six Cal dual-meet and Spieker Aquatics Complex records in meets against USC and UCLA last weekend, has been named the Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week.

Ivey established a pair of individual marks, covering the 100-yard butterfly in 51.54 vs. USC and the 100-yard freestyle in a person-best 47.53 vs. UCLA. In addition, she swam a leg on four record-setting relays – the 200 and 400 free relay and the 200 and 400 free relay.

Overall, Ivey won 11 of the 12 races she entered, with the only loss a runner-up finish to teammate Alicia Wilson, who finished just ahead of her while setting a pool record in the 200 individual medley against UCLA.

As a result of her recent performance, Ivey now ranks among the national leaders in five events – 100 free (2nd), 200 free (7th), 100 back (6th), 100 fly (7th) and 200 IM (6th).
